I haven’t posted in a long time. Oops.

For the past four months, I’ve been driving a new Volkswagon Jetta TDI. It’s an interesting car to say the least. On the highway, the car can achieve upwards of 40mpg. However, the cost of diesel (relative to the cost of gas) make it a little more expensive to run than the average economy car (civic, coralla, etc.) If you’re looking for a comprehensive review of the car, look elsewhere. I’m a student, not a car reviewer.

One of my relatively unknown hobbies is to collect flashlights. Many might say, “oh yeah, a flashlight. What’s so cool about that.” Well they certainly haven’t met the guys over at Candlepowerforums. They don’t just collect those standard 2-3 D maglights, they also buy ridiculously expensive flashlight (easily over $200). Some of them spend thousands on HID portable light beams capable of burning paper.

The only light I have that’s really worth mentioning is Fenix’s L2D-CE (I bought it off Fenix Store. I have now had it for over a year and a half , and it has held up well. It’s plenty bright compared to your standard incandescent Costco flashlight.

My birthday is coming up in two days and I bought myself a new Nitecore D20 and an E01. I bought the flashlight using the code priority25 and I recieved 25% off my order from 4sevens.com. It should be here sometime soon, but snow may have delayed it’s shipment.

I recently got an LG Dare to replace a Motorola Razr v3c. The Dare, currently the highest rated Verizon cellphone on Consumer Reports, overall, is a solid phone. It’s large touch screen gives a reassuring shake every time it’s touched. The operating system installed on the phone seems reasonably fast (compared to my sluggish razr), but there are reports that the text input box slows down when typing longer paragraphs.

However, I do have a few gripes. The touch screen vibrates even if you hit a blank area of the screen. For example, say you are typing a text message. It will vibrate even if you miss a key.
